The historical beginnings of Cartier Replica as a watch brand
The founding father of the family empire was Louis-François Cartier. The son of a jeweler, he was born into turbulent times: France was recovering from defeat in the Napoleonic Wars and occupation by the Allies. He learned his father’s trade and then took over the business of his teacher, Adolphe Picard, in Paris. There he soon became known in well-heeled circles as a great young talent and was able to count numerous aristocratic and royal families among his best customers – his soon reputation: “Jeweler of Kings and King of Jewelers”.
Cartier Santos
First introduced in 1904, the Cartier Santos was the first wristwatch for men and is known for its distinctive square case with the characteristic screws on the bezel. Another defining design feature are the Art Deco style Roman numerals on the dial. The Santos-Dumont and Santos de Cartier series are available, which are made in stainless steel, gold, bicolor and, in the case of the Santos-Dumont, also in platinum.
Cartier Ballon Bleu
The Ballon Bleu collection consists of round, elegant watches. The series is characterized by a blue sapphire or spinel cabochon that adorns the winding crown of each Ballon Bleu. The cabochon is also surrounded by a ring that acts as crown protection. The women’s and men’s watches are available in yellow or rose gold as well as in stainless steel or bicolor.
Cartier Panthere
As already mentioned above, the Cartier Panthère has been in the Cartier range since 1914. There are several Panthère collections, of which the Panthère de Cartier is probably the best known. Visually, the watches are strongly reminiscent of Santos models, but are aimed more at female customers due to their size and the use of quartz movements. When it comes to materials, you can choose between gold, stainless steel or bicolor.
Cartier Pasha
The Pasha collection has been part of the Cartier program since the mid-1980s. The so-called chain crown is typical of the Pasha series. This is connected to the housing via a short chain. Another identifying feature are the four Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock. Within the collection you will find classic three-hand watches, chronographs as well as versions with a moon phase or tourbillon.
Who wears Cartier watches?
Angelina Jolie: The Oscar-winning actress is known for wearing Cartier watches. Among them is a Tank Louis Cartier (Ref. W1529856) with a quartz movement and an 18-carat yellow gold case. The watch measures 29.5mm x 22 and is fitted with a brown alligator leather strap. You can buy the simple three-hand watch new on Chrono24 for under EUR 9,000.
