Omega Seamaster Diver 300M
Exactly 25 years ago, Omega Replica presented the first Omega Seamaster Diver 300M, which quickly became a success. To celebrate this anniversary, Omega has introduced a new version of this watch, which features updates both inside and out. This new version is the logical next step for Omega’s popular diver’s watch. Let’s find out if it really is that different.
The first thing you notice is the slightly renewed aesthetic. Omega decided to reintroduce the so-called “Wave Dial” with wave-shaped decoration, which was already present on previous models. However, the materials and production of the dial have been renewed. A laser engraves the waves into the polished ceramic dial, which is available in black, blue or “PVD-Chrome”. The latter is a shade of gray. But Omega has not only redesigned the dial, it has also introduced a new ceramic bezel with a diving scale made of Ceragold or white enamel. Whether the scale is made of Ceragold or enamel depends on the model chosen.
The biggest change, however, is inside the watch. Omega increased the case diameter of the Seamaster 300M from 41 mm to 42 mm so that the in-house caliber 8800 can fit inside. This Master Chronometer (METAS certified) movement resists magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss and remains highly accurate even under extreme conditions.
Overall, Omega has created a new Seamaster Diver 300M, not just a minor update. This model comes in 14 different variants, six of which are made of stainless steel and eight of which are made of gold and steel. The most special version is the Titanium Tantalum Limited Edition, which is made of titanium, tantalum and 18-carat Sedna gold. There will only be 2,500 of this model. It is a reissue of a 1990s classic that was made of rose gold, titanium and tantalum.
Omega Seamaster 1948 Limited Editions
Another new launch is the Omega Seamaster 1948 Limited Editions. Between 1940 and 1945, Omega produced more than 110,000 watches for the British Ministry of Defence. These watches were worn by the pilots of the Royal Air Force and by the sailors of the Royal Navy. During operations, the watch proved to be very reliable. These watches inspired Omega to introduce a wristwatch with the same technology and the same reliability to the general public. Therefore, Omega launched the Seamaster series in 1948. This line was also the first watch family that Omega produced. The watches were very well regarded and successful in the years that followed.
