Sporty elegance, dazzling sparkle of diamonds and creative, oval counters on the dial. Here are the new versions of the Speedmaster 38 mm model.
The Speedmaster 38 mm collection, introduced in 2024, is one of several series that allow you to look at the flagship Moonwatch in a different way. When creating a smaller version, the designers did not stop at just making the case smaller and adding a colorful dial and diamonds. Several details have been redesigned, thus changing the style of the watch from a sporty one to a more elegant one. Of course, it still has the features associated with the Speedmaster series, e.g. the shape of the case, tachymetric scale and stopwatch function.
It is true that due to the smaller casing (diameter 38 mm), the versions with a large number of diamonds should basically be considered women’s, but as Raynald Aeschlimann, CEO of the Omega Replica brand, said, a good design appeals to the tastes of watch lovers regardless of gender. And this time, there’s plenty to choose from, as the Speedmaster 38mm arrives in eight new bracelet or leather strap versions: two in Sedna rose gold, two in Moonshine yellow gold, and four in steel.
Regardless of the material from which they are made, all cases are water-resistant to 100 m and have a diameter of 38 mm (height 14.7 mm). In each version, the ring is set with 52 diamonds (approx. 1.5 kr) and the crown is decorated with an embedded diamond. The dials also feature an identical arrangement of oval counters typical of this series: 30-minute per hour. 3., 12-hour per hour 6 o’clock and small seconds hand at 9. As in previous editions, at 6. there is an elliptical date display.
What is new are diamonds of various sizes surrounding the counters. Two diamonds also constitute a luxurious setting for the index at 12.
As for the dials, two colors are available: brown or green, but only steel models have dials in both shades. For the Sedna gold version, Omega offers a brown dial, and for the Moonshine gold variant – green. The common feature of all of them are silver-tinted counters. In addition, each version of the Speedmaster 38 mm model is offered with a bracelet made of the same material as the case or with a leather strap matching the color of the dial. The bracelets consist of three rows of links, finished with polishing and brushing, and have Omega’s patented convenient adjustment system, while the straps are made of alligator leather.
As in the previous versions, under the full caseback (it is decorated with a medallion with an engraved image of a seahorse) works the automatic caliber 3330 with a coaxial escapement, a stopwatch with a column wheel and a 52-hour power reserve. The accuracy of its movement is confirmed by the chronometer certificate issued by COSC.
And finally, the prices: Speedmaster 38 mm in a steel case and with a leather strap costs PLN 89,400, with a bracelet – PLN 91,100. The gold version costs PLN 174,100 (with a strap) or PLN 237,800 (with a bracelet).
